Ditte Johansson : «Durante los últimos diez años he trabajando con vidrio. Participe en talleres y cursos de colada en caliente y trabajo en frío, fusión, experimentación sobre flatglass, flamework, etc. Mis obras se basan en los materiales, pero todo mi trabajo artístico se basa principalmente en los pensamientos y las ideas.
En muchos de los proyectos que he estado trabajando, mi intensión ha sido tratar de transferir la sensación de «presencia» que creo que emana el material textil realizado con vidrio, esto le da un carácter más anónimo. Uno de los proyectos que verás en mis imágenes es «vidrio textil». Es una técnica propia que he desarrollado en la que realizo un proceso de lana de vidrio con las técnicas de textiles . Creo que es interesante que el «vidrio textil» se convierta en una mezcla única entre vidrio y textil. Es textil y vidrio, pero al mismo tiempo, se convierte en un objeto de vidrio diferente, algo propio.»
Ditte Johansson: «I´m educated at Högskolan för Design och Konsthantverk, Master of Art and Craft, department, fiberart in Gothenburg, Sweden, but has during the ten last year been working with glass.I have participated in severel workshops and courses; casting with hot and cold glass, fusing, experimenting on flatglass, flamework and so on.My procedure is based on materials, but all my artistic work is built on thoughts and ideas. The exhibitionsituation/room is very imported to me since I want to create an entirety with my separate glass objects. In many of the projects I´ve been working with my intension has been to try to transfer the feeling of «Presence» which i think textile material emanate to the glass more anonymous character. One of the projects you´ll see in my images is «Textile glass». It´s one of my own techniques I have developed in wich I process glass-wool with textile techniques and thereafter burn it in a glasskiln until everything but the glass has melted. I think it´s interesting that «Textile glass» become a unique mix in between Glass and Textile. It´s textile and glass but at the same time the glassobjects becomes to be something different, something of it´s own.»
